Jeff Hargett received his Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1987 and his Law Degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1990. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, where he was a founding member and served as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Hispanic-Latino Issues Division. He is admitted to practice in all North Carolina Courts, as well as the US District Court, Western District of North Carolina.
Mr. Hargett is a native Charlottean and takes great pride in the City and the State. He is also fluent in Spanish and has represented a large number of Spanish-speaking individuals. Mr. Hargett has been involved in the community through his work with the Hispanic-Latino Issues Division of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nevins Center, which serves adults with developmental and similar disabilities. He has also been charitably involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the American Red Cross, and his church. Mr. Hargett has served on Mecklenburg County Bar Committees and authored scholarly papers dealing with legal issues. He is married and has one child, who will be graduating from Myers Park High School in 2009.
Mr. Hargctt limits his practice to the representation of injured persons with the majority of those claims being in the nature of automobile collisions and workers compensation. He has spent his entire 18 year career as an attorney with the firm of Price, Smith, Hargett, Petho & Anderson in the representation of the injured during which time he has represented thousands of individuals. Mr. Hargett prides himself on bringing a high level of professionalism and individual attention to a large volume practice.
